How we use Signup Information:
In order to set up an account, the following information is requested during signup:
- First and Last Name: This information is used in the outgoing email headers of email you send through WebBox.
- Primary Email Address: This is the email address you are going to configure for your WebBox Account. If you sign up for a WebBox-provided email address, the address you receive will be used.
- Time Zone: This will be used to offset times to correspond with your local situation. Email times will be adjusted, Events in your calendar will be adjusted, and so forth.
- WebBox Password: This is the password you will use to log in to WebBox.
- Question: Provide a question that we may ask you in the event you forget your password. This will assist in helping you get into your WebBox should you forget the password you have set up.
- Answer: This is the answer to the question you configure. We recommend you use something that only you will know and that no one else could research. You must answer the question exactly the same way you did when you signed up, otherwise your answer will not be considered correct. We recommend that you use a one word answer.
How we use Survey Information:
WebBox no longer collects survey information.
What We Do and Don't Do with this Information:
During the sign up process, the information you submit is used by us to associate each part of your account with every other part. As an E-mail retrieval service, it is also necessary to provide your email address (or addresses), so we may access those email accounts and present you with your mail. The information obtained during the sign up process and the configuration of POP3 servers will remain the property of WebBox and will be removed from the database upon termination of your account. We consider this information confidential, and will not share it with any third party.
Our web server logs are used to monitor performance, make improvements, and analyze traffic patterns. WebBox.com does not sell, trade, or release personal information. Only aggregate statistics having to do with advertising-related issues are ever released to any third party. Such information cannot be tracked to any individual user, and all information gathered is voluntarily submitted by means of surveys.
WebBox will never willfully disclose individually identifiable information about its contacts to any third party unless ordered to do so by a court of law.
How your Privacy is Secured:
We take great pride in providing you with a strong privacy policy. To further insure the integrity of data stored on our network we utilizes all necessary and available security. We protect you from any internal misuse, by requiring all employees that may come in contact with data gathered by WebBox to sign a nondisclosure agreement over the data. In addition all employees sign a contract that binds them to the privacy policy seen here.
Modifying the Information Associated with your Account:
We provide you with methods to change the information we associate with your account at any time. By logging in to your account from http://www.webbox.com/, and entering the "Configuration" Section, you may edit any information you have provided to us in the past.
Removing WebBox Accounts:
Visit http://www.webbox.com/ and log in to your account. Once logged in, you may access the "Configuration" Section, where there is an Option to "Delete My WebBox Account." Confirming this action will remove all information we have stored for/about the account, and all information will be unrecoverable. We may delete unpaid accounts automatically at our discretion, but if you would like to be certain your account is closed, be sure to close it manually.
What types of communications you may receive from us.
From time to time, WebBox will place an announcement directly into your System. This message will be specially marked, and will only exist in your WebBox Account. The message is not stored on any POP3 server, so you will only be aware of the message if you are using WebBox. This information will be provided to you for informational purposes and will never contain a solicitation. In addition, we may periodically send out usage surveys to measure the users’ opinions of various features. Any information gathered in this way would be subject to the conditions of our privacy policy defined on this page.
A word about SPAM
WebBox recognizes the concern some users may have over associating your email address with our email service. We will never sell, trade, or share any email address you configure with WebBox. Further, we will never request your permission to be placed on an unsolicited email list. In short, WebBox will never use information supplied by you to assist any type of unsolicited bulk email.
